SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP-AT-HOME,

Worship-at-home service during the self-quarantine of COVID-19.
TODAY: ANSWERING THIS OBJECTION TO CHRISTIANITY:
“It is offensive and arrogant to insist you have the one true religion.”
Today we tackle one of the biggest objections to Christianity. Maybe you’ve had people say it to you something like this, “It’s offensive and arrogant to insist you have the one true religion. How can you have a corner on the truth? How dare you say your religion is the only way to God?”
This is a common objection to Christianity and maybe you personally don’t have this objection, but we all need to know how to lovingly converse with those who do. Jesus said in John 14:6 that He is the way, the truth, and the life and that no one comes to the Father except through him. Yet in our culture to believe this truth may be viewed as narrow-minded and arrogant.
We’ll be looking at how to best answer those who have the objection to Jesus being the only way to God. I hope you’ll join us for this important message as we continue our series “Focusing on Jesus: The I Am Statements of Jesus.”
John 14:1-7
1 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
4 And you know the way to where I am going.”
5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?”
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
SONG LYRICS
These are the songs sung during the worship service. Please use the lyrics so you can worship along.
SONG: GOOD GOOD FATHER
But I’ve heard the tender whispers of love in the dead of night
And you tell me that you’re pleased
And that I’m never alone
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
But I know we’re all searching
For answers only you provide
‘Cause you know just what we need
Before we say a word
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us
I, I can hardly speak
Peace so unexplainable
I, I can hardly think
As you call me deeper still
As you call me deeper still
As you call me deeper still
Into love, love, love
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
You’re a good good father
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
You’re a good good father
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you
You are perfect in all of your ways
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
SONG: IN CHRIST ALONE
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand.
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live.
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.
