SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP-AT-HOME,

Sunday, August 16, 2020

Worship-at-home service during the self-quarantine of COVID-19.

DEVELOPING A LIFESTYLE OF RELYING ON JESUS

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Are you aware as a follower of Jesus that you need to rely on Jesus everyday? It’s not about legalistically checking off things on a list whether or not you read your Bible today or prayed today. Rather, it’s a daily reliance upon Jesus. And, of course, we need His Word and to communicate with Him through prayer. But it’s a relationship of reliance.

We need to rely on him like the branches rely on the vine in order to produce fruit. If the branch is discounted from the vine it cannot bear fruit. Are you connected to the True Vine, Jesus Christ, or are you trying on your own strength?

Today for our online worship service we look at the last “I am” statement of Jesus where He says, “I am the true vine” from John 15. I hope you can tune in this Sunday at 10am!

By His Grace,
Eric

SONG: HEART OF WORSHIP

Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Matt Redman

VERSE 1

When the music fades
All is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that’s of worth
That will bless your heart
I’ll bring you more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what you have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You’re looking into my heart
CHORUS:
I’m coming back to the heart of worship
And it’s all about you,
It’s all about you, Jesus
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about you,
It’s all about you, Jesus
VERSE 2
King of endless worth
No one could express
How much you deserve
Though I’m weak and poor
All I have is yours
Every single breath
I’ll bring you more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what you have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You’re looking into my heart

SONG: LORD, I NEED YOU

Source: LyricFind. Songwriters: Christy Nockels / Daniel Carson / Jesse Reeves / Kristian Stanfill / Matt Maher

VERSE 1

Lord, I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You’re the One that guides my heart
CHORUS
Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
VERSE 2
Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
Where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
Where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
BRIDGE
So teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
When I cannot stand I’ll fall on You
Jesus, You’re my hope and stay
When I cannot stand I’ll fall on You
Jesus, You’re my hope and stay
