SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP-AT-HOME,

Sunday, June 14th, 2020

Worship-at-home service during the self-quarantine of COVID-19.

MESSAGE: I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE

In these days of differences about the coronavirus and seeking racial justice now more than ever we need to focus on Jesus. Focusing on Christ might sound easier said than done. So how do we focus on Jesus?

We see Jesus with eyes of faith in God’s Word. Specifically we’re going to be focusing on Jesus over the next few weeks in the Gospel of John with this series of messages. Within this New Testament book there are seven “I am” statements of Jesus. The “I am” statements are where Jesus describes himself, such as “I am the bread of life.” Below are the 7 statements:

1. I am the bread of life – John 6:35, 48, 51
2. I am the light of the world – John 8:12; 9:5
3. I am the door of the sheep – John 10:7, 9
4. I am the good shepherd – John 10:11, 14
5. I am the resurrection and the life – John 11:25
6. I am the way, the truth, and the life – John 14:6
7. I am the true vine – John 15:1

Each week we’re going to look at one of the “I am” statements and they are powerful when you dig into them. Each statement is an aspect of Jesus’ character and we’re going to see how each part of His character can help us here and now.

This week we’re going to look at Jesus as the Bread of Life. We’re going to see why and how we must rely on Jesus just like your physical body relies on food to live.

VERSE 1
The head that once was crowned with thorns
Is crowned with glory now
The Savior knelt to wash our feet
Now at His feet we bow
VERSE 2
The One who wore our sin and shame
Now robed in majesty
The radiance of perfect love
Now shines for all to see
CHORUS:
Your name, Your name
Is victory
All praise, will rise
To Christ, our King
Your name, Your name
Is victory
All praise, will rise
To Christ, our King
VERSE 3
The fear that held us now gives way
To Him who is our peace
His final breath upon the cross
Is now alive in me
BRIDGE
By Your spirit I will rise
From the ashes of defeat
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me
In Your name I come alive
To declare Your victory
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me
VERSE 4
The tomb where soldiers watched in vain
Was borrowed for three days
His body there would not remain
Our God has robbed the grave
Our God has robbed the grave

SONG: Lord, I Need You

Source: LyricFind
Songwriters: Christy Nockels / Daniel Carson / Jesse Reeves / Kristian Stanfill / Matt Maher, Lord, I Need You lyrics © Capitol Christian Music Group
VERSE 1
Lord, I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You’re the One that guides my heart
CHORUS
Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
VERSE 2
Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
Where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
Where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
BRIDGE
So teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
When I cannot stand I’ll fall on You
Jesus, You’re my hope and stay
When I cannot stand I’ll fall on You
Jesus, You’re my hope and stay
