SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP-AT-HOME,

Sunday, May 17, 2020

Worship-at-home service during the self-quarantine of COVID-19.

MESSAGE:

When Trials Reveal Our Hearts

1 Peter 1:6-7
In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith – more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire – may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

With everything related to this virus and self-quarantine many of us are having our faith tested. When our faith is tested with suffering – be it this virus, or any other kind of challenge – our faith is going through the furnace. When our faith goes through the furnace the heat of testing reveals the impurities in our hearts.

Anger, impatience, selfishness, and more might come out of us due to the heat of the furnace. If we weren’t going through the heat these impurities would remain in our hearts, unnoticed by even ourselves. We’re going to see this Sunday what to do with the impurities that our revealed when we go through the furnace. I hope you’ll join to worship with us on Facebook Live or on our website!

SONG: Man of Sorrows

Man of Sorrows lyrics © Capitol Christian Music Group
VERSE 1
Man of sorrows Lamb of God
By His own betrayed
The sin of man and wrath of God
Has been on Jesus laid
VERSE 2
Silent as He stood accused
Beaten mocked and scorned
Bowing to the Father’s will
He took a crown of thorns
CHORUS
Oh that rugged cross
My salvation
Where Your love poured out over me
Now my soul cries out
Hallelujah
Praise and honor unto Thee
VERSE 3
Sent of heaven God’s own Son
To purchase and redeem
And reconcile the very ones
Who nailed Him to that tree
BRIDGE
Now my debt is paid
It is paid in full
By the precious blood
That my Jesus spilled
Now the curse of sin
Has no hold on me
Whom the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
VERSE 4
See the stone is rolled away
Behold the empty tomb
Hallelujah God be praised
He’s risen from the grave

SONG: Come Thou Fount

Public Domain

VERSE 1

Come Thou Fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
Mount of God’s unchanging love.

VERSE 2

Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Hither by Thy help I’m come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.

VERSE 3

O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let that grace now like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.

SONG: Let It Be Jesus

Source: Musixmatch. Songwriters: Chris Tomlin
VERSE 1
Let it be Jesus
The first name that I call
Let it be Jesus
My song inside the storm
I’ll never need another
CHORUS
For me, to live is Christ
For me, to live is Christ
God I breathe Your name
Above everything
Let it be, Let it be Jesus
VERSE 2
Let it be Jesus
From the rising of the sun
Let it be Jesus
When all is said and done
I’ll never need another,
Jesus there’s no other
BRIDGE
Should I ever be abandoned
Should I ever be acclaimed
Should I ever be surrounded
By the fire and the flame
There’s a name I will remember
There’s a name I will proclaim
Let it be, Let it be Jesus
Let it be, Let it be …
