SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP-AT-HOME,

Sunday, July 19, 2020

Worship-at-home service during the self-quarantine of COVID-19.

MESSAGE: WHY JESUS WEEPS WITH US

Last Sunday we saw that Jesus delayed for two main reasons: (1) So good would be glorified and (2) so the believer’s faith would grow. So we saw the reason God doesn’t answer right away is for God’s glory and our growth.

Today we continue our “Focusing on Jesus” series with a message called “Why Jesus Weeps for Us.” We’re going to see in this same story the compassion of Jesus and why does He weep when he has the power to change things?

We’re focusing on Jesus over the next few weeks in the Gospel of John with this series of messages. Within this New Testament book there are seven “I am” statements of Jesus. The “I am” statements are where Jesus describes himself, such as “I am the light of the world.” Today we continue to look at Jesus being the resurrection and the life found in John 11.

SONG: GOD OF WONDERS

Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Marc Byrd / Steve Hindalong
VERSE 1
Lord of all creation
Of the water, earth and sky
The Heavens are Your Tabernacle
Glory to the Lord on high
CHORUS
God of wonders, beyond our galaxy
You are holy, holy
The universe declares Your majesty
You are holy, holy
Lord of Heaven and Earth
Lord of Heaven and Earth
VERSE 2
Early in the morning
I will celebrate the light
And when I stumble into darkness
I will call Your name by night
BRIDGE
Hallelujah to the Lord of Heaven and earth
Hallelujah to the Lord of Heaven and earth
Hallelujah to the Lord of Heaven and earth
Holy, holy
Holy, holy

SONG: BLESSED BE YOUR NAME

Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Beth Redman / Matt Redman
VERSE 1
Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name
Blessed Be Your name
When I’m found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be Your name
CHORUS
Every blessing You pour out, I’ll
Turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
VERSE 2
Blessed be Your name
When the sun’s shining down on me
When the world’s ‘all as it should be’
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there’s pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name
BRIDGE
You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name
God you give and take away
Oh you give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name
